Now in it’s 6th year, Young Marmalade is the award winning, combined car purchase and low cost insurance scheme, linked to a selection of vehicles, specifically designed for young drivers.
Why does Young Marmalade work?
If a young driver is driving a newer well maintained car with better safety equipment, they are more proud of it, will drive more safely and have fewer accidents. However, if they do crash the risk of personal injury is much reduced.
Over the years Young Marmalade has proved a much reduced risk by linking low cost insurance with the purchase of a newer car.
During a 12 month trial our insurance underwriters measured the accident statistics of Young Marmalade drivers against young drivers in any car with no requirement for additional training.
In the first year, a staggering 15.91% of this control group of young drivers were responsible for causing accidents which was in line with known statistics. This compared with 6.07% of young drivers on the Young Marmalade drivers scheme.
